After 70 years in the service of Stockholmers, it was time to upgrade the Söderströmsbron - the subway bridge between Slussen and Gamla stan. Under the 5 tracks, there are just as many bridge parts that are replaced with Swedish stainless steel. This takes place at the same time as the subway runs over the bridge, which requires enormous precision and planning. It's a bit like operating on a beating heart, in rush hour traffic. When the work is finished, we will have a new Söderströmsbro that is ready for 120 new years in the service of Stockholmers.
